The growth of mobile creates new opportunities • There are 6 billion mobile subsriptions & it is expected that they will exceed 6.5 billion by 2013 • The fastest growth rate is in sub-sahara Africa • Every 10% increase in penetration equates to 1.2% increase in GDP • More people have access to a mobile phone than to running water or proper sanitation facilities Mobile technologies for social transformation
