Project title: „Discover and present sustainability in a transnational way and by new media: Education for a sustainable development (ESD) in a student exchange program with/through GPS-education tours between schools from Romania and Germany-Navinatur-School Exchange”
About the project: • Project initiator: SCHUBZ - Centre for Environmental Education (SCHUBZ) in Lüneburg; • Funding: “Deutsche BundesstiftungUmwelt“; (German Foundation for Environment) • Partner schools: • Haupt-undRealschuleSalzhausen, IGS Lüneburgand Secondary School from Sfântu Gheorghe, • Marion-Dönhoff-GymnasiumMöllnand Liceul Teoretic „Joseph Haltich“, Sighișoara.
Partners: • The Institute of Environmental Communication (INFU) of the Leuphana University Lüneburg, • Bucharest University, • The Biosphere Reserve Administration (BRV) Lower Saxon Elbe Valley, • The Danube Delta BiosphereReserveAdministration.
Howdidwebecomepartners? • February 2011 – we received, through DDBRA, the project proposal of SCHUBZ and expressed our cooperation interest; • May 2011 – we met personally at the school to discuss further details; • July 2011 - has been approved by the“Deutsche BundesstiftungUmwelt“ beginning with January 1st, 2012.
Howdidwebecomepartners? • March 2012 – first teachers training seminars, each two days long, in Sighişoara and in Tulcea; • 31 May – 8 June 2012, Sf. Gheorghe – first school exchange between Secondary School of Sf. Gheorghe and Haupt- und RealschuleSalzhausen and IGS Lüneburg; • 8 – 17 October 2012,Lüneburg/Salzausen- second school exchange between the three schools.
Activities: • working on the POIs– Points of Interest) which will be on the project site: www.navinatur.de; • introducing the topic of sustainable development in class; • students provide coaching to each other and reflect and develop their models based on cultural influences through the "twinning model“; • face-to-face meetings complemented by virtual and theoretical presentations; • communication by webpage, www.navinatur.de (multilingual) in Web 2.0 mode, and GPS and audio-, picture-, and text-based tools.
