  1. Famous Slovenes! Now, how about we take a step away from American celebrities, and lets take a look at Slovenian celebrities!

Danilo Turk • The current president of Slovenia. • From 1992-2000 Danilo was the first permanent representative of United Nations. • From 2000-2005 he served as a UN assistant Secretary-General for political affairs. • June 2007 he accepted to run for president, and won the election,thus becoming the third president of Slovenia.

  3. Joze Plecnik • Was an Architect from 1872-1957 • His picture was on the 500 tolar, the old currency of Slovenia • Plecnik was awarded the greatest Slovenia awards for architecture • One of his biggest projects was the triple bridge “tromostovje”

  4. Jurij Zrnec • Was born in 1987 • Was an actor, a director, a TV host and an Entertainer.

  5. Tomo Krinzar • He was an humanist, peace activist, and private envoy of the Slovene president for darfur in Sudan. • February 2006 he entered the Sudanese Darfur region to help rebels escape with no visa. • Was arrested in August 2006 and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. His Camera was also confiscated.
