  1. 30 August 2012一 Bell Ringer Please get out your notes on the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, the Mayflower Compact, and Common Sense from yesterday. Please spend the first five minutes of class writing questions into your cues column. When the annoying alarm sounds, we are going to talk about what I want in the summary part of your Cornell notes. 5分

  2. 二 Important Documents (continued) The summary section is a chance for you to process all the information you have written down. Take the next two minutes to write one or two summary sentences about the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, the Mayflower Compact, and Common Sense.

  3. 三 Notes Check On Friday, we will have our first “Notes Check” grade. I will need to see the following pages at the end of class on Friday: “Room 2-203, Civics, and (your name)” from 20 August “Compound Vocabulary” from 21 August “The Enlightenment Notes” from 22 August “Important Documents Notes” from 29-30 August “Freyer Models” from 30 August Please write this down; notes checks count as multiple class assignments. When you are done jotting down the details of tomorrow’s notes check, get out a sheet of paper, head it, and title the paper “Freyer Models”

  4. 四 Freyer Model • for inspirations I’ve noticed this class has a little trouble following directions. To fix this problem, we are going to take the Freyer Model step by step. If you followed the instructions on the previous page about heading and titling your paper, you won’t have any directions to follow for the first 7 instructions. Sorry.

  5. 四 Freyer Model • for inspirations Get out a lined sheet of paper. If you don’t have a loose-leaf page, please get one at the front of class. Write your first name in the upper-right hand corner of your paper. Write your last name below your first name. Write today’s date below your last name. Write the period you have civics below today’s date. On the top line of the paper, write “Freyer Models” as your title.

  6. 四 Freyer Model • for inspirations Do paper boxing with your paper, but do not unfold it when you are done. On the corner where the folds meet, fold a triangle. Unfold your paper. Draw a line on all of the folds except for the lines inside the diamond. The result should look like this:

  7. Copy these words into your Freyer Model. • 四 Freyer Model • for inspirations

  8. 10 minutes left 9 minutes left 8 minutes left 7 minutes left 6 minutes left 5 minutes left 4 minutes left 3 minutes left 2 minutes left 1 minute left • 四 Freyer Model • for inspirations You have fifteen minutes to write down each person’s main idea and their connection to the Founding Fathers (meaning the part of America they inspired). In that 15 minutes, you will also have to come up with some things these three men have in common (about their ideas). You may use any resource in the room except for me. That means your notes and each other.

  9. 四Freyer Model • for inspirations Time’s up! Turn your paper over and trace the fold lines again.

  10. 五 Freyer Model for you UNEXPECTED END OF FILE ME!
