  4. Manufacturing Technology . . . • What is the basic idea of MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY? Manufacturing technology provides the productive tools that power a growing, stable economy and a rising standard of living.  These tools create the means to provide an effective national defense.  They make possible modern communications, affordable agricultural products, efficient transportation, innovative medical procedures, space exploration... and the everyday conveniences we take for granted.

House Rules . . . • Do not enter the workshop without any permission from GC/instructor. • Follow the procedures to do the work. • Wear complete Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) such as safety boots, coverall, gloves, etc. • Do not litter. • No food and drinks/smoking while operating machines. • Remove accessories such as rings, bracelets etc. • Mobile are not allowed.

  9. Safety . . . Safety in workshop ~ • Safety is important during the workshop… • Follow all the safety signs, which include hazard warnings. • Do Not Rush through an operation. • Always read the safety cautions that come with your equipment. • Always listen carefully to the teacher and follow instructions. • Know where the emergency button are positioned in the workshop..if you see an accident at the workshop, you can use the emergency button to turn off all the electrical power to machines. • Ask questions if you don’t know how to use the machine etc.

  11. In case of emergency . . . If fire occur, what must we do? • Don’t be panic. • Use the fire extinguishers if necessary. • Press an emergency button, call for helps. • Go to save area/assembly point and close any opening to the area of fire.

Conclusion . . . • Why safety is important?? -It protectsemployees and the employer from death or injury. -It teachesworkers how to work in a safe environment. -It keeps everyone feel safeand happy. -It teaches the workers to pay attention to their surroundings. -It prevents companies from law suits.
