  2. Principal Focus Group Results • Begin with small teams • Hands on (bring it to life) • Walk out with the major tenets in place • A lot to digest: Assimilate when possible • Meet and share with their Peers during the process

  3. Expectations • Rough draft is built on last year’s plan • Revised draft of your SIP is in hand • Meet with the Sr. Coordinator’s, Sr. Manager, TRST’s of each goal/ subject area to fine tune (8 - 10 goals) • School Teams may choose to stay all day • Lunch on your own time frame

  4. School Improvement Seminar Process • Overview; Title I; Best Practices * (Repeated before each Breakout 1.20 ‘) • Breakout Session I: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. • Breakout Session II: 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. • Breakout Session III: 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. • School Leadership teams will rotate every 15minutes

Polk SIP Brief • Purposes of the Brief • Initial request of the School Board last year • An abbreviated version for Progress Monitoring (PM) • All can update goals on Polk’s SIP Brief • Deliverable for C, D, F schools • Uploaded to Goggle Doc’s SIP website after every Progress Monitoring • Dates will be forthcoming

School Improvement Integrity Practices • All teachers have an copy of the SIP on their computer DESKTOP • This entails the full length SIP • The SIP Brief • All Teachers know your site’s goals • Data Chats refer back to the goals • Update the Brief • How far away are you from obtaining your goals? By Subject? By Grade?

  22. Due Dates Due Dates • All school’s initial SIP in place first day of school (Goal’s) • All schools upload two(2) docs to Polk County’s SIP Google Doc’s website by October 12 • SIP Brief and the Trad. Plan • Priority and Focus Schools Upload to DOE also on October 12

  23. Upload Processes • Confined to Administrators only • Just like an attachment • Add File • In your folders • Upload your Full Template • Upload your Brief • Historically, your goals will be tracked here • For your constituency • (Teachers, SAC, Parents)

  24. More Dates • Live Meetings for Focus and Priority Schools –possibly others: • September 17 – 21 • Peer Reviews: September 24 – 28 • DAC/SAC Requirements are same • Note: Majority of SAC is community and parents • DA Checklists will not be released till August
