Need for Standardisation in Education The facts: The facts: The facts: Many initiatives are only create results,, but those results are not used from the wider public Technology is here, Educational Methods are here but it seems that only few people take advantage of them Direct actions (as starting point): Direct actions (as starting point): Organisation of Information Programs (like School Foresight)
Need for Standardisation in Education Specific Actions: • Every initiative that is based on ideas and proposals concerning the educational procedure must be realised and accompanied by specific processes and procedures that must be identified and followed. • Every project concerning the implementation of educational applications must be accompanied by an “Implementation Guide” • Recommend the standardization of the methodologies and practices, and even more the evaluation scheme. The availability of a standardization scheme is particularly important, as is the establishing of conditions conducive to change and to adaptation of the ways in which education and training systems are organized.
Need for Standardisation in the implementation Phase • There are standards which could implemented in the educational procedures using especially the technological achievements • Learning Standards List
Scope - Aims Need for the existence of Implementation Guides Creation of a training framework that correspond to the needs of the stakeholders (teachers, students and the community) Identify and present best training practices and methodologies Standardisation of the educational procedure Present a model for the continuous provision of training and support to the stakeholders
Scope - Aims Need for the existence of Implementation Guides Establishment of a continuous procedure for the evaluation of the training framework in order to continuous modify and adapt new procedures or methods for the creation of a user friendly environment Identify and follow the basic principles and standards of an educational program
Scope - Aims Need for the existence of Implementation Guides The Implementation Guide contains all the specification, practices and methods that are needed to implement e-Learning with a proposed way (e.g. Open and Distance Learning via Satellite) and it is separated in three sectors: • training and education specifications (methods and practices) • technological specifications (methods and practices) • specifications for providing the integrated service (methods and practices)
Need for the existence of Implementation Guides Content of an Implementation Guide
Data from Users • IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE • Providing Information for: • Present Situation and trends • Critical operations / procedures and gaps • Recommendations for improvements • Best Methods and Practices Data from Procedures Evaluation / Data Analysis Data from Tutors Evaluation Procedure Need for the existence of Implementation Guides • Questioners • Interviews / video • Discussion
Fields of the Evaluation Need for the existence of Implementation Guides Educational Procedure Educational Content Technology • User Friendly • Efficiency & • Effectiveness • Functional • Reliability • Structure • Plenitude – Cover of Needs • Clarity • Variety of Material • Organisation – Design/Planning • Educational Method • Implementation
