  1. Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive opened in 1976: It was ranked as one of the most prestigious secondary school in the country. One of the largest in the Caribbean housing 1900 students in 1991. Name changed in 2008 to Chaguanas North Secondary. Presently the school has 845 students ranging from Forms 1 to 6.

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE/ ISSUES Inability to deal with the curriculum Reading and writing problems Lack of income in household Students with disciplinary records being sent to the school by the Ministry of Education. 11 students received full passes in CSEC 2009. In 2004 60% of students received passes in CSEC of grades 1-3 In 2009 78% of students received passes in grades 4 & 5

RECOMMENDATIONS There is need for remedial teachers School policy on reading Installation of software to assist in reading e.g. The Ultimate Phonics reading programme Expansion of library to include home-work/ reading room. Book reports every three weeks for Forms 1 to 4. reading corner for students with easy reading books, puzzles and magazines.
