The challenge… our competition Closed model • No immediate transaction needed • You know the device, customer • No remote payments needed. Billing afterwards • Apple, Amazon • International orientated, credit card based
The challenge… Open model • Any customer • Any product • Any device • Remote payments needed. • Local transactions • “payments like online”
Our vision • The customer will change behaviour and will tend to shop anywhere, anyhow, anytime: • They expecta similar user experience (to what they are used to online) • They want their transactions and data to be private, secure • It should be affordable for both customer and retailer • No wallet needed (low thresholds) • The interface currently preventsin stead of enables a transaction!
What merchants need • We need the same payment methods as we have now, but then mobile/remote. • Interface/device independent • Payments via API’s, Mobile interfaces, Car interfaces, TV, eBooks, 3G devices, Other and/or not-yet-developed-interfaces • Secure • Easy • Trusted. • Affordable… • We don’t want new payments as the need to be introduced to the market!
Demand (the customer) + supply (the merchants)anywhere, anytime, anyhow transactions!
The future is in remote payments… I would suggest investing/innovating in remote paymentsas it opens for consumers new “shopping opportunities”. And…proximity payments doesn’t add much customer value… it is more or less the same as we already have today…
