  3. Objectives of Workshop 2 • Share the experience of visiting a local secondary school • Develop planning skills • Raise awareness of learning styles • Design more resources to be used in your teaching

  4. School Visit • What do you like/dislike most? • What puzzles/surprise you? • Did you enjoy it? • What do you want to see more in your future visits if possible?

  5. Develop Your Planning Skills • What to teach about Chinese • Scheme of work • Lesson plan • Evaluate two schemes of work and two lesson plans

  6. A list of topics • Shopping • Food and drinks • Leisure activities

  7. A list of stories • Changing apples • Kitten fishing • A little pigeon sending invitations

  8. Learning Styles & Their Characteristics • Visual • Auditory • Kinaesthetic

  9. Design your resources • Learner-centred • Content-based • Communication-guided

  10. Classroom Activities • Watch a video of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language • Demonstrate how to use certain resources • Group presentation on how to teach a certain aspect of Chinese (10 minutes)
