Are there any learning objectives for information search? Learning objectives for medical students (Studiehåndboka for 2013/2014): Semester IIB: 1.1.3 bruke medisinsk bibliotek til mer inngående litteratursøk i forhold til aktuelle kliniske problemstillinger som ledd i faglig utvikling Semester IIIA Studenten skal kunne: 2.1.1 på effektiv måte finne fram til relevant litteratur i biblioteket, og aktivt bruke oppslagsverk og elektroniske søkeverktøy (biblioteket tilbyr kurs). Sistnevnte er presisert i Retningslinjene for hovedoppgave ved DMF: Som ledd i arbeidet med å videreutvikle bruk av data- og litteratursøking skal studenten lære: - metoder for søking av originallitteratur - utnyttelse av et vitenskapelig bibliotek If you're going to publish your thesis in a journal, many journals want you to provided documentation of your search strategy in the methods section of your paper.

How to get a Fulltext Article? Result list in PubMed After finishing your search you can find information about how to get the fulltext of an interesting articles from the result list.
How to get a Fulltext Article?Pubmed & free online articles: PubMed informs you about free articles at the end of each reference (click on the link to get the fulltext). Link to free fulltext is presented in the upper right corner together with the NTNU icon (See also next slide). PubMed has an automatic filter that sorts out all references in your search that are available as free fulltext. You can access this filter by clicking on ”Free Full Text” in the upper right corner of the reference list.
How to get a Fulltext Article? Pubmed & NTNU: Click on the link to access the abstract and the full text (if available) This full text link is supplied by the publishers and you will only get access if NTNU has a subscription NTNUwill supply correct information about full text access.
How to get the complete article? Pubmed & NTNU: English language is available Article information Full text information will only appear when you have full text access. Clicking on the link will transfer you directly to the article (see notes about access limitations). Check our holdings of the print edition of the journal For ordering a paper copy from Bibsys (if fulltext is missing) A list of articles that the system believes you might be interested in based on the chosen article.
How to get a Fulltext Article? Pubmed & NTNU: Example of a fulltext article: Always use PDF when printing. Web version (html) of the article Both pdf and html versions are not available for all online journals. Some has only pdf available. Some older issues might only be available as html.
