Effect of the new ICNIRP Guidelines 2010 on Exposure Evaluation of Electrical Power Systems Ernst Schmautzer
In December 2010 ICNIRP (International Commission on non-ionizing radiation protection) published new guidelines for limiting exposure to time-varying electric and magnetic fields (1 Hz to 100 kHz). Several significant changes were made compared to the guidelines published in 1998. Many national standards (as in Austria) are based on the previous guidelines, so the question arises, shall the new guidelines be incorporated in national regulations? Ernst Schmautzer

As harmonics have to be considered following CNIRP Guidelines There a need to know the possible occurrence of harmonics Voltage harmonics in %split in symmetrical components of voltage signals Ernst Schmautzer
As harmonics have to be considered following CNIRP Guidelines (1998, 2010) There is a need to know the possible occurrence of harmonics The exposure ratio for the electric field strength ER can be calculated from the electric field strength of the fundamental frequency E1 , corrected by a harmonic factor kH , and the reference value EL,n at fundamental frequency In three phase systems the characteristic of the zero and positive sequence components have to be considered Harmonic Factors kHAustrian HV and MV power linessymmetrical components Ernst Schmautzer
