  3. I bet you're asking yourself, "How do I know which verb form to use?" • It’s really quite simple!

  4. The basic form is used when the verb tells      about more than one person, place, or thing. • Example • The horsesrun in the race.

  8. Hold onto your hat!!! Here's another way the spelling of the basic form of a present tense verb can change! • When the basic form ends with a consonant plus y, change the y to an i, then add es. (study) Thechildstudies for the test.

  9. Trick! How do you know when to use “s” with the verb or just use the base form? • Just remember that “s” stands for single or 1! • Add “s” if the subject is 1 only! :) How cool is that? Example: - The child plays the piano very well. (one child only, right? ) ( so use plays instead of play ) - The teacher loves her students. (one teacher only, right? ) ( so use loves instead of love )
