Elementary Summer Math And Reading Tutorial (S.M.A.R.T.) Program • The program targeted students in grades K-6 who were at risk of being retained (120 students were retention candidates). • The program was designed to give students an opportunity to upgrade their academic skills and provide intervention in an effort to prevent students from being retained in their current grade level.

21st Century Summer Program • Ellenmaria Wilcock-21st Century Director/Vanessa Howard-Lead Teacher • 41 students (3rd-6th) from Walnut Grove & Duchense • Non-retention candidates • 4 classroom teachers, 1 lead teacher, and 1 instructional aide • Core academics and enrichment activities • Parent involvement activities
Middle School Summer Program • June 3 – 28, 2013 • 7th grade – first two weeks • 8th grade – last two weeks • 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM • Location: Wedgwood Elementary School • Lead Supervisor: Ms. Jennifer Andrade • Program Goal: To provide instruction in key core subjects based on emerging academic performance during the school year.
High School Summer Program • June 3 – 28, 2013 • English and Math credit recovery – first two weeks • Science and Social Studies credit recovery – last two weeks • Electives (Art, Health, PE, & ACT Prep) & EdOptions – all four weeks • 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM • Location: McCluer High School • Lead Supervisor: Ms. Julie Williams • Program Goal: To afford students an opportunity to earn credits from previously failed core classes and to allow identified students an opportunity to take elective courses during the summer to free up time in the regular year schedule to take more higher level courses.
MSB EdOptions Program • June 3 – 28, 2013 • 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM • Location: McCluer South-Berkeley • Lead Supervisor: Mr. Eugene Simpson • Program Goal: To continue the opportunity for students to earn additional credits through EdOptions online courses.
High School Summer Graduates • McCluer High School: 8 • McCluer North High School: 15 • McCluer South-Berkeley High School: 3 • Mark Twain SSC: 3 (2 MSB & 1 MN) • TOTAL SUMMER GRADUATES: 29 • Note: Some summer graduates finished via FFSD Night School, not regular summer school.
Summer Program: Mark Twain Student Support Center • June 3 – 28, 2013 • 8:20 AM – 3:10 PM • Location: Mark Twain Student Support Center • Site Administrator: Dr. Mark Weller • Program Goal: To provide students still serving a long-term suspension an opportunity to make-up credits and to continue the MO Option Program.
