Improves Quality • All Experts have been through a rigorous recruitment process and have been assessed on their skills and experience. • Experts have extensive experience and may also present additional skills than required for the role. How are Experts deployed? Speak to your Regional PM about your requirement Complete a template to provide more detail OPE will provide 3 Expert CV’s for you to interview You will negotiate the day rate within the OPE pay bracket (You can call off an expert at any time) OPE will manage the admin and liaise with you to check quality/delivery OPE will complete BPSS checks and the contract OPE will invoice your organisation when the task is complete

The Housing Commitment Central Government • The Prime Minister committed to 1m new homes by 2020 • Government committed to build 160,000 homes on its own land • A new Ministry for Homes, Communities and Local Government • Homes England scaling up Local Government • The LGA has pledged that councils will released land for 160,000 homes by 2020 • 476,000 planning applications received between Oct ‘16 - Sep ‘17 with 9/10 approved
Successful applications:The essentials • Key risks; • Pace of delivery and scale of benefits; • Deliverability and route to future funding; • Asks of OPE team/government; • Strategic fit (e.g. STP, local growth, national policy, etc); • Strong governance setup. Project description and scope - include a convincing level of project detail (site maps, clear ambitious plans); Involve a range of public bodies; Deliver 1 or more of our core priorities (housing, jobs, capital receipts, revenue savings); Driven by local priorities and/or support government policy/priority sites e.g. release of public sector land;
Successful applications: Other considerations A focus on housing delivery Projects should focus on housing delivery Additionality - show that projects cannot be delivered without OPE support and/or funding. Proposals should not displace other housing delivery VFM - the funding ask should be proportionate to the project/ work undertaken Innovation - consider MMC, delivery at pace, right homes in the right places, key worker homes etc. Wider expectations Show/ commit to meeting pre-selection criteria, inc. LA 160k homes ambition Demonstrate a commitment to sustainability of OPE through the sustainable grant. Programme Delivery and Management.
