  1. UAE Conservation Welcome to Houbarafund The International Fund for the Preservation of Houbara was established in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in 2006 as a natural extension of the nucleus planted by the founder Sheikh Zayed, may God rest his soul. The Fund oversees the management of a global network of sustainable initiatives aimed at preserving and increasing the number of Houbara birds around the world. At the heart of these efforts is the Fund's ambitious program to raise the bird in large numbers in captivity and launch it into the wild.

  2. The International Fund for the Preservation of the Houbara today manages a wide network of breeding centers in different regions of the world where the bird is spread. It is concerned with the multiplication of two main types of houbara: Hibari North Africa and Asian Houbara. The latter includes endemic and migratory species, Separate for the restoration and formation of sustainable groups of Houbara .

  3. The International Fund for the Conservation of Houbara has succeeded in developing breeding techniques, which are now a reference for the methods of breeding houbara in captivity. Here, two different groups of birds must be produced, one for propagation and the other for release, each with separate procedures to be followed in accordance with the purpose of education. The Fund has made great efforts to preserve the genetic diversity of Houbara birds proliferating in captivity from Asian Houbara and Houbara North Africa.

  4. Who We Are: The International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC) is a non- profit organisation supported by the Government of Abu Dhabi. It is one of the world's largest species conservation projects, overseeing an international network of specialised Houbara breeding centres to support and increase wild populations of the bird in its natural habitats across entire species range.
