ACADEMIC ADVISOR • Approve application request in ECITIE for add, drop subject/s. • Help students define and develop realistic educational career plans through schedule planning for each semester. Each student should have an up-to-date study plan through to graduation. • Meet at least once each semester with continuing students to plan for the coming semester and to review/revise long range academic program schedules. • Monitor progress toward educational/career goals and meet at least once each semester to review the progress toward completing the proposed academic program and to discuss grades and other performance indicators. • Follow-up with the advisee on any report of unsatisfactory work (notice of class probation for poor attendance, notice of failing grades, incomplete grades from past semester(s), etc.). Special attention should be paid to students who are placed on academic probation.

ACADEMIC STATUS Recommendation for Student who have attained GPA <1.00 and with CGPA >1.67: Allow the student to continue study Instruct the student to defer for one semester Terminate the student’s study status

PENALTY • Academic Misconduct • (one or a combination of two or more) • Reprimanding student in writing; • Redoing assessment with reduced marks; • Student’s work given 0 mark; • Reducing 50% marks for student subject work; • Suspension for one semester; • Expulsion from the university
EXAMINATION MISCONDUCT • Given ‘F’ grade for that particular subject and SUSPENSIONfrom the University for one semester; or • EXPULSIONfrom the University.
IMPLICATIONS OF MISCONDUCT • MUST REPEAT THE FAILED SUBJECT • EXTRA PAYMENT OF FEE FOR THE FAILED SUBJECT – EXCLUSIVE IN THE MARA/PTPTN LOAN • LATE COMPLETION OF STUDY/ GRADUATION • TERMINATION OF STUDIES
DEAN’S LIST AWARD • Awarded to students with GPA >3.50 and have not obtained less than C for any subjects in the current semester. • Students must have registered for a subject load of not less than 12 credit hours.
