Introduction Historical Context – Risk Assessment: Pre- WW2: Informal. No Systematic Approach to Risk Assessment. Post WW2: With the advent of nuclear power, methodologies were developed to assess risk The Seveso disaster in 1976 marked a significant step in making risk assessment a standard feature of industrial projects. Risk Assessment has become universal across every aspect of human activity : Aerospace, Industry in general, including Oil and Gas, Environment, Medical, Financial, etc.
