  2. The Wampanoag People • Long ago Wampanoag live in what is called today Massachusetts. Today many people still live in the same area some people also live in Rhode Island. • The population today is about 3,000. • They held there special events at Cranberry Day the day takes place on the second day of October.

  3. Homes, Food, Clothing • In the past, a Wampanoag home is called a wetu. A wetu is a round building with a round roof. The men bult the wetu with poles with grasses and tree bark. • For their food they the men hunted Bufflo and they also eat shellfish, cod, bass, and lobsters. For clothing both men and women wore breechclothing which is a piece of animal skin whih passes the legs.

  4. Wampanoag Crafts • The Wampanoag make beautiful crafts. • They make colorful pottery ,jewelry, and paintings. Jewelry means objects that are wore for decoration. • Wampanoag pottery is made from clay.

  5. Wampanoag Religon • The wampanoag Indians believe in the Great Spirit. They believe the Great Spirit is in all livings things. • They honor the Mother Earth as a resorce of life. They join the unity circle. They eat, dance, and sing special song about there culture. • Today many people believe in the Great Spirit and the Mother Earth.

  6. Wampanoag Goverment • There are two important learders which are The Grand Sachem and the Supreme Medicine Man. • The Medicine Man is a religon leader. And the Supreme Man is a government leaders. • The Supreme Man hold powwows and other special event they also dance eat and sing religon songs.
