Places They Lived The Cherokee lived in what is now Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia. They also lived in the mountain region.
Way of Life Food The Cherokee ate corn, beans, and squash ( The Three Sisters. ) They hunted deer, rabbits, bear, and other animals for their meat. They also caught and ate fish. They used it for fertilizer.
Ways of Life continued……. Shelter The Cherokee lived in summer houses and winter houses. The Cherokee also had council houses that were seven sided.
Transportation Transportation The Cherokees walked on foot. The Cherokees took boats and canoes made from trees
Ways Before Settlers The Cherokee didn’t scalp until the settlers came. They had no metal tools.
Life After Settlers After settlers the Cherokee had metal tools. They used glass pieces for decoration.
Interesting Facts The Cherokee used dry veggies like pumpkins or squash. The Cherokee called themselves Aniyunwiga.That means “Principal People”. It was not allowed to marry someone from your clan. Before the Cherokee boy used a bow, he had to prove his skill with a blow gun.
