  5. Rising Action • Actions or related incidents that lead or build to the climax • Tension builds

  6. Climax • Turning point in the story • Protagonist makes a change (good or bad) • Can’t go back to the way things once were

  7. Falling Action • Conflict unravels • Consequences of climax are revealed • Story starts to wrap up

  8. Resolution • Conflict is resolved • Good or bad

  9. Theme • The overall message/moral of the story
