  2. WASH MainFlood Problems/threats • Damaged property/ house - WASH Facilities. • Water-borne diseases. • Contamination of water by sewage and waste. • Mosquito/flies infestation. • Contamination of drinking water. • Stagnant water in depressions. • Undesirable odours.

Responses Update South Darfur State: • SD state: (WES,UNICEF,ARC,MCS,CIS,OA,SMoH) • Disinfection of the affected hand pumps • Intensify the chlorination activities to cover all water supplied through motorize pump with regular chock chlorination for the hand pumps • disinfection of the affected household latrines followed by back filling for the filled and collapsed latrines • Increasing the awareness raising activities with emphasis on the most vulnerable groups • Increase the frequency of jerrycan cleaning campaigns. • Increasing the field staff • Weekly updating the attached flood format (Wednesday)I Khartoum: will Rehabilitate 10 Hand pumps in J.Awlia.

  4. Responses Update • BN • 1,000 Cartoon of Soap provided, 5 Hand pumps rehabilitated by WES/UNICEF in Damazin Locality. • Salam Friends,LABENA Volunteers continue working in Hygien promotion & Sanitation.
