  3. 3 Year GED and Drop-Out Data • Research: • History of academic failure • Retained 2 or more times • Frequent discipline referrals • Excessive absenteeism

  4. Grade 12 Course Requirement Not Achieved • Students who failed to meet course requirements to graduate • Percentages include students who failed multiple courses

  5. Diploma Types • Represents breakdown of June diplomas • Phase-out of local diploma for general education students • General education Freshman entering 9/08 – only Regents diploma

  6. ELA Regents • 2010-11 was the first administration of the shortened Regents exam • Our results have fluctuated due to shift to CCLS • SWD achievement has dropped a little with approximately 56% passing with a 65-100

  7. Integrated Algebra Regents • District Results • Includes Middle School students • 100% of Middle School students passed • SWD achievement has remained relatively stable N=599 N=671

  8. Geometry Regents • Third administration this year • SWD passing (65% - 100%) continues to fluctuate from year to year dependent upon numbers and types of students N=558 N=456 N=524

  9. Algebra 2/Trig Regents • Second June administration this year • Our results continue to reflect state achievement • There were SWD who sat for this exam – results varied N=375 N=315

  10. Global Studies Regents • Relatively consistent achievement rates • SWD passing rates continue to rise N=615 N=598 N=631

  11. US History Regents • Yearly fluctuations in performance for both General Ed and SWD N=619 N=562 N=556

  12. Earth Science Regents • This year includes both HS and MS students (4th year) • Almost 100% of Middle School students passed • Percentage of SWD passing increased by 10% N=628 N=648 N=627

  13. Living Environment Regents • Percentage of General Ed passing remains relatively constant • SWD percentage passing fluctuates slightly from year to year N=615 N=572 N=578

  14. Chemistry Regents • Percent passing continues to rise N=372 N=368 N=260

  15. Physics Regents • Results continue to fluctuate from year to year, depending upon the test difficulty and number of students enrolled N=68 N=46 N=63

  16. 5 Year AP Trend • Scores of 3, 4, 5 are generally accepted at many colleges • 530 (54%) out of 981 exams taken achieved 3, 4, or 5 • Encourage students to enroll in AP – more challenging coursework

  18. Next Steps • Develop DCIP as a Focus District • Develop SCEP for two High Schools • Continue to align ELA and Math to the CCLS • Continue to align the rest of subject areas to CCLS – Literacy Across the Disciplines • Continue development of CTE through Perkins Grant (4th Program Application)
