Aims of the project • Improving outcomes for parents, children and young people • Increasing parenting capacity • Improving family relationships • Ensuring a coordinated approach to the services families receive • Reducing anti-social behaviour and criminal activity • Preventing homelessness and providing sustainable routes back to settled housing www.derbyhomes.org

The FIP and Locality working • Locality 1 – Jacqui Adcock based at Beaufort Business Centre – Covering Oakwood, North Chaddesden, South Chaddesden and Derwent. • Locality 2 - Tanya Caldbeck based at First Steps, & Mandy Douglas based at Stanley Road • - Covering Alvaston, Osmaston, Allenton, Sinfin, Boulton and Chellaston.

What can a FIP worker do to support the Troubled Families agenda? • Co-ordinate a case from referral to closure • Provide one point of contact for families and agencies • Work with each individual member of the family • Set up a contract of support • Challenges families & agencies that don’t do what they say they will
What can a FIP worker do to support the Troubled Families agenda? • Visits families every week – usually about 3 times • Identify needs, plan, review and prioritise work accordingly • Be open and honest about what needs to change • Coordinate weekly appointments • Provides out of hours support • Persevere
