Remaining troops in Iraq focus on training, advising and assisting Iraqi Security Forces.

OEF/OIF/OND Program • Screening • All OEF/OIF/OND veterans receiving VA Healthcare are screened for: • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder • Depression • Substance Abuse • GI/Skin Issues • TBI • Military Sexual Trauma • Case Management Needs Assessment
VET CENTER TRADITION Established by Congress in 1979 for Vietnam Veterans In 1995 service extended to all war zone vets and military sexual harassment/assault victims of any era. Goal is to provide a broad range of counseling, outreach and referral services, to help vets and their families make satisfying post-war readjustments to civilian life.
UNIQUE FEATURES • Vet Centers maintain a “welcome home” attitude that promotes customer service in a relaxing and non-bureaucratic environment. • Veterans are welcome to stop by the Vet Center at any time, as there are no waiting lists to receive care. • Vet Centers maintain extensive outreach programs to help veterans gain early access to care. • Vet Centers are community-based, operating outside of the larger VA medical facilities. • Vet Centers guarantee confidentiality and informed consent to avoid the effects of stigma on war zone and sexually traumatized veterans. • Vet Centers tailor local service programs and staff composition to best fit the social and cultural needs of the veteran community being served.

► Delphi Foundation Award • Nomination form may be completed by faculty, staff or students who wish to nominate an Oakland University undergraduatestudent • Must be enrolled as full-time* students in the 2014 fall semester, have at least two or more semesters remaining in their academic program, and be active, reserve, National Guard or honorably discharged from service • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 • Nominees will be judged on academic performance, leadership, and involvement on OU’s campus and/or within surrounding communities • Consist of questions and providing two letters of support.
