  1. Consist Points • What is 3D Film • History of 3D films • Concept behind 3D films • Concept behind 3D films a practical: • How 3D films are made • Latest 3D innovations • Advantage/Disadvantage • Conclusion • Special thanks to • Query

  2. What is 3D Film • Generally we see films in 2 dimensional which has only height and width, but if we talk about 3D films then these has 3 dimensional means width , height and depth which provides the 3d vision or look to the movie. • In 3D film it looks like we can touch the scenes or the character of the film by our hands, or can grab them when ever we want or can interact with them. • It is also called the S-3D (stereoscopic 3D) film is a motion picture that enhances the illusion of depth perception. • We need special kinds of 3D goggles to watch that kinds of films. • the use of 3d technology in TVs, laptops and other products is growing because the basic content required to support such products includes sports and movies

  3. History of 3D films 1st • In 1894 a process developed by which two images are placed in front of viewer and both contains same photo, viewer wear a stereoscopic headset and watch movie, that is in partial 3D, That was the foundation of the concept of 3d cinema.

  4. History of 3D films 2nd In 1920 layered technology, a new innovation in field of 3D comes which is “ anaglyph 3D” in this technology film are made by two position and each of these film has only two color red and green viewer has to feel the depth by analyze the difference between colors . “The Power of Love” was the First 3D movie, screened for a commercial audience, in Los Angeles.

  5. History of 3D films 3rd In 1922 two projector concept applied by which 2 projectors project on screens at once this projector covered with colored film, an another advance version of stereoscopic headset to watch the 3D. But that not successful too. “The man from mars” was the film developed using this technique.

  6. History of 3D films 4th In 1940 the polarization technique of 3d projection comes in practical. In this polarized glass were used to filter the anaglyph rays, this filtration merge two image into one. And produce 3d effect , this style of creating 3d is become popular that time because now watching 3D experience become more depth full. “Magic movies” are the movies released that time.

  7. Polarized goggles

  8. History of 3D films 5th in 1952, with the release of the first color stereoscopic feature -Bwana Devil, which was produced, The film was shot with Natural Vision, projected in dual-strip with Polaroid filters.

  9. History of 3D films 6th Between 1952 and 2002 lots of 3D films were released with different technology. In 2003 jamescameruns film “Ghosts of the Abyss” was launced His another best 3D film avatar also released in 3D in 2009. Which usage the 3D camera instead of post production placing 3D in 2D film avanger was also film of these series. Human eye connection with this film making were applied.

  10. Concept behind 3D films • When we look any image the both eyes look there separate view, in 3D view we try to merge the view of both eye and try to differ them as the image are in layer form, We intersect the both eye and reverse the layers means top layer become bottom layer and vice versa, if this concept work correctly we see the result as 3D view of the 2D image. Eyes are two inches apart, two different angles on viewing the same things creates a 3D image • Our eyes project a 3D image in the brain by seeing things from two different viewpoints as noted by the gap between our eyes and these 2 2D images are formed in the brain into 1 3D image. Thus, 3D images are formed and everything in the real world is 3D. • 3D movies trick the brain by projecting two 2D images separately to the two eyes and recreate a 3D image in the brain

  11. Concept behind 3D films a practical: Just look at the image cross your eyes and intersect your view until an another white whole not comes in center of line , then it will appear 3rd image in your brain , this 3rd image will be the 3D image and basic concept of 3D films.

  12. How 3D films are made 3D films can be made using any of these techniques they are :- Artificial original Live action

  13. How 3D films are made • artificial:- • In this technique we take simple snapshot of the video which we want to create 3d movie . • This is simple 2D movie and we can take it by any kind of camera no special camera with great resolution is required. • After the taking movie done with the preproduction work now its time to work with post production. • Take any video editing software like pinnacle, adobe premier etc. and import your video. • Just take the video in 1st and 2nd line of editing window, and overlapped them little. And open color mixer provided by the software and just add some reddish and greenish effect to video . • Render the video , hence your movie complete in few steps.

  14. How 3D films are made

  15. How 3D films are made

  16. How 3D films are made • 2 . original:- • In this technique we take image at two angle like our. • This angle distance must same as the distance between our eyes • Record the video at the nice resolution from away 10 feet. • Similarly like previous method edit video. • This provides some better 3d experience then the artificial method. • Same goggles needed to watch the made film

  17. How 3D films are made • 3. Live action:- • In live action method an special kind of bi lance camera is used. • This has polarized lances which takes vertically polarized video for left and horizontally polarized for right. • This technique allow best 3d quality. Latest films made by using this technology. • Videos are directly shootout at both the lances and can be watch immediately in 3D form some of the videos need to editing but mostly not require. • After the shooting video polarized 3D goggles are used to view 3D movie. • This polarized goggle has vertical polarize in left and horizontal in right side, ,which prevent perspective polar rays and then viewer see exact 3D video. • Most recent this technology used because by this we can produce colorful 3D video which can not develop in remaining method of making 3D video.

  18. How 3D films are made

  19. Latest 3D innovations Until the new inventions in 3D comes there is a problem with this old 3D technology. We need special 3D goggles to view that kind of films but according to new ,invention we do not need any goggle or any additional equipment to view 3Dmovie or game. Sharp introduce a new notebook Mebius PC-RD3D 2007 with 2D/3D display switching mode. By which we can view 3D without goggles, and can switch any time2D desktop mode to 3D desktop mode. With provided dedicated key. This kind of display usage “parallax barrier” which In the 3D mode it enables to shift image for the right and left eyes producing stereo effect. In 2D this barrier is just transparent

  20. Latest 3D innovations What is parallax barrier:- A parallax barrier is a device placed in front of an image source, such as a liquid crystal display, to allow it to show a 3D image without the need for the viewer to wear 3D glasses. Placed in front of the normal LCD, it consists of a layer of polarize with a series of precision slits, allowing each eye to see a different set of pixels, so creating a sense of depth through parallax in an result. The only drawback of this system is viewer must sit in proper way to get the 3D experience.

  21. Latest 3D innovations

  22. Advantage/Disadvantage of 3D • Advantages : • We can enjoy 3D things more, then the 2D . Object can better understand. • Games in 3D are also popular because it has better graphic quality for gaming environment. • We can feel the objects more closely. • 3D films cant be pirated at the cinema hall/ mall because it is in 3D polarized form which normal camera cant be take correct video. If take video got blured. • Disadvantages : • Eye can be feel uncomfortable by the goggles. Same goggle can be spread eye infections. • 3d glasses provides limited vision. And obstruct the view. • 3D vision in Night deliver load on eyes.

  23. Conclusion • Viewer enjoy 2D films but if they had option to choose between 2D and 3D them certainly they choose 3D because it provide better experience to watching movies, playing games. • The future is going super advance because there are new technology with new experience are waiting for us, ,but they also contain some feature of 3D image processing technique. • This new technology are named as 4D and 5D cinema where viewer can view and also feel the situation running in movie with the advance sensing technology. • The scope of 3D movies are so broad and possibilities are developing day by day by the scientist as result we can see “barrier barax” which replace the 3D goggles, hope later we get the advance technique to watch movie because – • “excitement never ends. And development never stops.”
