Conclusions • The ITA is an agreement that has accelerated the industry technological growth, also resulting in a substantial enhancement of the ICT sector. • The ITA has generated a number of new investments and jobs. It has altered our everyday life. • The ITA has shown practically how to make use of the globalisation effect in order to stimulate balanced growth and how to rapidly propagate the technologies that determine the development of the whole of the industry. It is then worth working on modifying the technological orientation of such an agreement.
Conclusions • The ITA has also posed challenges to new product classifications. It is necessary to work on such alterations that will preserve the spirit of the ITA. • It is imperative to strive to dispose of non-tariff barriers and expand the geographical scope of the agreement. • To rejuvenate the ITA, it is equally important to consider its possible contribution to solve the current and future major environmental issues of our planet and civilisation.
