History • The Boston red Sox originated in Boston in 1901, making them the sixth oldest team in baseball. In 1903, in just their second year of existence, they won the world series. In 1907, they changed their name from the Americans to the Red Sox, and took off. From 1903 to 1918, the Sox took home 5 World Series and were the best team in baseball. Until Babe Ruth was traded to the Yankees. They didn’t win a Series until 2004, an 86 year dry streak.

He hit .406 in a single season, and was great. • Carl Yazeremski, number 8, a 16 time All Star.
