Four European Ecosystem Model by CoupModel KTH, Sweden
Site Description Location: 1059 intersect point scattered all around Europe
Method • Climate data in form of NetCdf files • Consisting of Air Temp, Vapour Pressure, Wind Speed, Precipitation, Global Radiation and Long Wave Radiation • Setting 4 EcosystemScenarios all over the intersects • Bare Soil • Forest(Mid Sweden, low N depostion, Till soil, well drained, Three layers and understorey, started from plantation with no harvest) • Wetland (Shrubland, two low vegetation, shallow natural drainage) • Grassland (Similar as Wetland but well drained)
Data • Meteorological data from 1972 to 2002 • Soil Properties • Vegetation pattern • Air temperature • Global Radiation of Intersect no.24194 within yearly distribution
Assumption • Climate Data as Driving Variable in Each intersect • A Common Soil for All Intersects • A Common Plant for All Intersects • Common Nitrogen deposition originating from Middle Sweden
Results from European Transect as Benchmarking Sensitivity 2D Maps- Geographic charts Outputs are Presentable in 2D Maps as Function of X, Y Coordinates Outputs Correlation with Driving Variables Major Outputs as Function of Forcing Conditions (Air Temp, Global Radiation, Precipitation.....)
2D Maps Example:WaterContent in FirstLayerofSoil Wetland Bare Soil Forest Dryland
Outputs as Functionof Driving Variables Example:WaterContentCorrelatedto Temp, Precpitation, Radiation
Future Work • Implementing Soil and Vegetation Pattern in Each Intersect • Benchmarking different models • Construction of new statistical meta models
