Some Facts on what Lent is about • Lent is about trying to do sacrifices like Jesus. • Lent is a time when God asks us to come closer to Him in friendship. • Lent lasts for 40 days. • It leads to the greatest feast in the Christian calendar. • On Ash Wednesday the priest makes the sign of the cross on our head with ashes. • While he does it he says these words ‘Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.’’

  3. Some Ideas of Sacrifices • Praying more often • Doing good deeds • Making small sacrifices which means giving up something that we enjoy doing • Trying our best to stop doing something that is a bad habit

  4. What happens during Lent ? • Some of you might say what happens during Lent? • During Lent there is Maundy Thursday then there is Good Friday then it is Easter Sunday. • On Maundy Thursday people go to the seven Churches. • Jesus died on Good Friday . • On Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead.

  5. A Poem for Awareness The following is a poem to make reflect upon the importance of including everyone in our games.

  6. Left Out It feels as if pins are pricking at my eyes. My face is burning hot. A firework is trying to go off inside me. My feet are glued to the spot. My hands are rocks in my pockets. I want to runaway. But my legs are rooted to the ground like trees. I have to stay and listen to everyone calling me names and not letting me join in with their games.
