  2. Lewis was born in Belfast on November 1898. • He has wrote over 40 books. • His family used to worship in St Marks church so he donated two stained glass windows in memory of his parents.

  3. This is C.S Lewis • Born in 1898 in East Belfast • Died in 1963

  4. He wrote the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. • He also used to memorise long passages from his favourite books. He used to collect copies of his favourite stories and poetry.

  5. When he was five he had a dog and it died. • He was called Jack in remembrance of his dog.

  6. In 1917 C.S Lewis graduated from Oxford University and then became a teacher there. For the rest of his life he lived in Oxford and Cambridge.

  7. Lewis married in 1956 but unfortunately his wife died in 1960, and he died three years later at the age of 65.

  8. His inspirations !!!! The Mourne Mountains This was his favourite area in Northern Ireland. He used to go walking here with his brother.This is where he got the idea for the land of Narnia.

  9. St Marks Church • The Lewis family used to worship in St Marks Church on the Hollywood Road in East Belfast. • The lion on the door handle on the door into St Marks Church may have been the inspiration for Aslan, the lion in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, his most famous novel.

  10. Did you know? • One of his quotes was: ‘There isn’t a book or a cup of tea big enough for me.’ • Also……. The film makers of Narnia donated the doors of the wardrobe to Queens University for the reading roomin the new library to honour C.S Lewis. Go to the new library at Queens and see them!!
