Analyzing Social Issues and Societal Dynamics • A WEBQUEST designed for COLLEGE students through OBJECTIVE: The web quest aims to enhance the understanding and awareness of students regarding different pressing social issues through the different social perspectives so that they can take active part in the dynamics of societal events. Students are required present a role play expressing their knowledge on the subject matter. ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: 1.What are the pressing social issues? 2.What are the three social perspectives ? 3. How do we analyze social issues through social perspectives?
INTRODUCTION Problems lurk around in society, unfortunately, yet inevitably. The only way we could handle them is to do something about them. Hi… You are about to explore how it is to look through the lenses of different people. So put on your glasses and see society as you would. Explore why things happen as they are and what effects they have for you and me.. Think about what to do and hone your analytical skills as well.. ENJOY…^^
TASK You will be divided into three groups and come up with a comprehensive role play reporting about the societal issues presented to you. Your job will be to portray as realistically as possible and to include in your play a solution to the problem .Be sure to read the rubric so you know what is expected of you. INSTRUCTIONS INSTRUCTIONS: • You will need to work in a TEAM • The play should only last for at 30 minutes at best. • You should portray a realistic scene of the social issue assigned to you . The Presentation should also include a scene depicting a solution to the problem given. • A written output should also be passed to the teacher containing the details of your role play. Details should include a comprehensive summary and solution of the issue given to you, attach a group reflection as well regarding the matter. • The students will be graded as according to their performance through a criteria.

CONCLUSION Indeed SOCIETY has a lot lurking around it, issues abound at a calculus. But however many they are, we can still do something about them. Social Issues are soluble, only if a consortium of efforts are grafted by society. Now you are ready to make your role play activity more substantial. Include in it all those that you’ve learned to make it more persuasive .
