AGENDA • TEP Scope • Flow • Outline • Key Requirements • Schedule Part of 1/10th scale TEP
US ITER-Tokamak Exhaust Process Project The ITER TEP project provides a technically mature, robust, and cost-effective solution for the separation of hydrogen isotopes from the Tokamak exhaust stream – a critical element in the ITER Project.
Scope of Work • Deliver Tokamak Exhaust Processing System • Flowsheet Refinement (ITER-International Team/SRNL/LANL) • Catalyst Testing/Computer Modeling (LANL/SRNL) • Design (LANL/SRNL/IT) • Fabricate/Procure/Assemble (SRNL) • System Test (LANL/SRNL) • Ship System to Cadarache, France (SRNL) • Overall Project Objective: • Design, Procure, Assemble, Test, & Ship • The Tokamak Exhaust Process Gloveboxes • - Shell and Internals
Key TEP Requirements • Current High Level Specs: • Tritium compatible • Process gas from 450 and 3000 second pulses at a flowrate of 75-150 SLPM • Send < 1 Ci/day to the Atmosphere (Vent) Detritiation System • Overall TEP decontamination factor (DF) of 108 • Delivery to ITER by 3/2014 • Exclude: • Installation, assembly, testing at ITER site • Interface systems, such as control system and gas analysis • Working toward a new baseline in 2007
Planned Procurements • Gloveboxes • Vessels • Vacuum Pumps -Metal Bellows -Scroll -Turbomolecular • Specialty Vessels -Catalyst 1 -Catalyst 2 -Catalyst 3
