The background to the development of the network lies in work undertaken by Adapt linked into the regional Equalities Partners
The network brings together individual people and organisations as a participatory network
The network has undertaken some specific work funded through North East Empowerment Partnership. Report – Effective Engagement with Disabled and Deaf People
Access has been identified as a major issue in relation to provision of services.
The aim of the network is to give disabled people more of a voice and influence policy decisions. The network is working in partnership across Northumberland and being recognised as a point of reference by statutory organisations.
