  3. Historyof Spiš region • its one of the most beautiful regions of Slovakia • thereis a long tradition of alcohol productiondatedfromthebeginningof 13thcentury • GeographicallyextendsfromthePolishborder, throughthepeaksoftheHighTatrasmountains to Rožňava hollowbasin in thesouthof Slovakia.

Historyoftown Stará Ľubovňa • isoneof the royal cities in the Spišregion • firstmentionof this town is maintained in the year 1235 • itwasunder the cognizance of clergy of the Cracow Kingdom till the year 1234 • city kept the culture and traditions of both countries whichgave it some advantages. One of those was production of alcohol • 1364, when the town received status of the royal city, town privileges and the off-license. (by King Louis 1.)
