  3. Prepositions • A preposition is a part of speech that shows a relationship between two things. • Location (on, under, in, above, over) • Time (before, after, since, during) • Direction (from, toward, to)

  18. Prepositional Phrases Prepositional phrases beginwith a preposition and endwith the object of a preposition. The object of the preposition is usually a noun which comes after the preposition with an article between the two words. The object of the preposition will answer the question "What?". The underlined part of the sentence is a prepositional phrases. The pizzain the oven is mine. The girlby the doorismy sister. The runners racedaround the track.
