5. Business Meetings • In addition to the cultural aspects of the tour, several business meetings are in the process of being organized. Companies we are looking at meeting with include: Macquarie Bank, Boston Consulting Group, New South Wales State Government, ANZ Banking Corporation, NewsCorp, Property Development Companies, Media Companies • We would like your feedback on which types of companies/organizations would be of most interest to you – so please let us know by email and we will try to make it happen

6. Great Ocean Road (Melbourne) • Experience one of the world's great coastal drives-its dramatic scenery of striking contrasts will remain etched in your memory forever. • View Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay from the West Gate Bridge. See Lorne, Torquay, Bells Beach and enjoy a stroll along the pristine sandy beach of the sleepy seaside holiday town of Apollo Bay. • Enter the deep lush fern gullies and eucalypt trees of the hinterland before rejoining the sheer coast, plunging dramatically into the sparkling power of the Southern Ocean. Blue Mountains Excursion (Sydney) Wild Kangaroos and Screeching Cockatoos - See these Native Australian animals and more in their natural habitat. :: Morning Tea on Nepean River - The tranquil western boundary of Sydney, with morning tea provided overlooking the river. :: Kings Tableland or Evans Lookout - The best place to view the wilderness of the Blue Mountains. :: Pleasant Bushwalk to Wentworth Falls - A relaxing walk to the most breathtaking waterfalls in the area. :: The Garden Village of Leura - Spend time to explore this picturesque village. 10. The Great Barrier Reef (Cairns) • This beautiful old sailing vessel, Atlantic Clipper provides you with comfort and style. Leaving from Cairns daily, a high speed transfer vessel will take you out to the Clippers location. • Cairns dive company Down Under Dive runs these live aboard cruises around the Great Barrier Reef for two days and a night. You will visit around four reef destinations over the days that you are out there and you won't run out of things to see.  There are fish and coral of all colors with diving to around 25 metres. You will see turtles, rays and even a moray eel something you don't want to get too close to! • There are many different swim thru's and caverns for certified divers, and you will find the night and early morning diving the best.   • Introductory divers can do a maximum of two scuba dives in one day and they are well catered for.  The instructors are friendly and patient and conduct great tours of the reef, along with making sure that you keep breathing! • All equipment is supplied, as well as meals, hot showers and accommodation in twin, double or share cabins.

12. Extended Trip (Jan 16th) Suggestions • In a group – hire/buy a 4WD/car or get a bus. For info visit: www.visitcairns.com.au/car_hire.htm • Drive to far North Queensland, camping, beaching and staying in hostels • Fly to the backpacker magnet of Byron Bay (same price as Sydney return). Awesome coastal scenery and typical Aussie towns – then bus to Sydney • Take a bus up to Port Douglas and laze on the tropical beaches before returning to catch your flight to Sydney and perhaps stay a final night there. • From Cairns, fly to Christchurch, New Zealand then to Sydney for $260. ($65 more than straight back to Sydney) • Venture into the outback, Croc Dundee country (Kakadu National Park) – fly to Darwin then Sydney for $315 ($120 more than straight back to Sydney) • Check out www.virginblue.com.au, www.jetstar.com.au and www.qantas.com for domestic airfares • Check out www.australia.com for ideas • Current exchange rate = US$1 buys you AUS$1.43

13. Visas & Passports • An ETA is equivalent to a visa, but there is no stamp or label in your passport and there is no need for you to visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application. If you are eligible, the ETA is issued electronically by a computer system operated for the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) of Australia. • The conditions on a Visitor ETA are: - It is valid for visits to Australia for tourism or to visit friends or relatives - It is valid for multiple visits within 12 months from date of issue - The maximum length of each visit is three months - You may not work while in Australia • The website for applying for an ETA is www.eta.immi.gov.au/ - there is a fee of approx. US$15.

14. Financial Aid/Health Insurance • You may extend your student loan by approx. $3000 to cater for this trip - speak with financial aid about this • Your student health insurance will cover you if medical expenses are incurred on the trip. Travel insurance for lost or stolen luggage is the individual’s responsibility and we would suggest you don’t bring anything valuable

15. What you need to do now… • Decide: 1) Return date to NY = Jan 9th or Jan 16th (DONE – check slide 2) 2) Participation in Barrier Reef trip? (DONE – check slide 2)3) If you are on the Jan 16th return option, decide on your return date and method to Sydney from Cairns. Look at “extended options” slide and decide how you will make your way back to Sydney for the Jan 16th flight? (Jan 9th returners will be directed to a flight to book online shortly) • Start gathering funds – full balance of payment required within next 4 weeks – check only • As soon as notified you will need to buy your domestic flight tickets online (Melbourne – Sydney – Cairns – Sydney). Full payment will be required at time of purchase. We will let you know what website and which flights to buy but you must do it as soon as we give you the information which will be in the next week or so – the cost will be close to $520 and you will need to pay by credit card • Travel visa – the airline may sort this out but if not you will be directed to go to: www.eta.immi.gov.au/ • Make sure passport is current – have it ready, we will need your exact name as appears on your passport ASAP in order to book your ticket • Fill out waiver release forms and return to Chazen this week – you will receive email shortly
