Prerequisites: Biology I, III (Ecology, Biology 3063, 3003) or approval of instructor Course Description. The course is an introduction to field and laboratory methods employed in marine biology. Benthic and plankton samples will be collected during a weekend field trip to the University of Texas at Port Aransas and identified in weekly open lab sessions. Five on-line quizzes and a field trip report and term paper focus on writing skills and the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem. Mandatory Field trip: Sept 12-13 required Lab meetings: four required lab meetings during the term by arrangement
