Paul Revere(1735-1818 ) • He was a silversmith (spoons, plats, teaspoons, and etc. • warning the colonist that the British were coming. • Boston mass. • A mail carrier • Be longed to The Sons of Liberty -wanted freedom • British gov’t put taxes on good • Captured than let go • Diligence=hard working • Liberty=freedom • The war ended in 1783 • In the war for 8 years • Lived when the England controlled the colonies • Was in the war

Frederick Douglass (1818-1895) • He lived in Baltimore, Maryland. • He leaned how to read by the children because they did not want the slaves to lean how to read. • He wanted liberty for everyone. • He had to give all his money to his slave owner. • He wanted freedom so bad that he kept escaped slaves in his house. • He got papers to escape and he was free! • He was very determined because he did not give up on any thing. • He wrote a book and a magazine called THE NORTH STAR! • (the book was about him being a slave) • This was one on the obstacle that he had to over come, he had to be a • Free man. • He was a part of the under ground rail road. • He gave a lot of speeches about slavery • He was a part of the people that stopped slavery. • FUN FACTS • Dressed up as a sailor to go to a free state!

Mary McLeod Bethune 1875-1955 She went on a train to go to high school that someone paid for She started her own school in Dayton Beach and it still stands today She became a teacher Wanted to read Worked with the president Only had $1.50 to start a school Was on a stamp Never had nice table setting Was born in Maysville south Carolina She was a leader Known for Diligent Justice And Respect for authority No money Was an African American Lived in Augusta Georgia Was a statue

Anthony 1820-1906 Boys and girls were not treated the same Lived in New York Women couldn’t own land Women couldn’t vote Grew up in Adams, mass She went to jail for trying to vote Was a teacher and got fired for complaining to her dad in her letter Wanted everyone to equal rights In 1920 women were able to vote Not many stores bayed money to women She was on a silver dollar She went to Quaker church CHARECTAR TRAITES DILIGENCE JUSTICE She was on a plaque at National women's hall of fame Became a principal Her ant was a role model for SBA
