Overall Changes • Name change: • Measurements of Student Progress (3-8) • High School Proficiency Exams (HS) • Shorter, single session (except Writing) • 75 minutes elementary • 90 minutes middle school • 120 minutes high school
Overall Changes continued • Fewer written responses • Only 4-5 Short Answers per subject • 3-8 testing window moved to May • Starting week of May 10th • Exact dates depend on delivery method

New Standards = we need to change everything to match the new standards • Test Map • Item Specifications • Asking about stuff we’ve never asked about = new items • May not assess some things we used to assess regularly.

End of Course exam? • OPSI and Board of Education will submit a report to the Legislature about End-of-Course options in High School Science. • Legislature will most likely act in 2010 session. • We will adjust our plans to carry out the law.
