  2. Please arrange yourself into the following small groups. Bring something with which to write, as well as a notebook or piece of paper to write on.

  3. On your own: What is your favorite book of all time. Now, more importantly, why? When I signal to, please share your thoughts with your group members.

  4. Us • As a group, brainstorm a list of texts that resonate with our lives here and now. • These texts can relevant to what you and your peers are experiencing as high school juniors and seniors, relevant to the community of Andover, relevant to the place we as a country are right now, etc. Those choices are up to you.

  5. Independently: Why do we study literature? On my cue, discuss your answers as a group.

  6. As a group discuss: • Is literature still important to us as a society? • Why or why not?

  7. Independently: Story telling *What is the importance of telling our stories to one another? *What do we gain by telling our own stories? *What do we gain by hearing the stories of others? On my cue, discuss as a group

  8. What are we afraid of?What oppresses us as a society? Group Discussion:
