Short History of IBS’07 workshop January `07 meeting at CERN about preparation of EU FP7 proposals for LC damping ring issues (GADGET) Email from Eugene Levitchev / BINP 12 Jan. 2007 ...and unfortunately I can't participate the GADGETmeeting... ...By the way, to my mind the situation with the IBStheory, simulation and experiment for very low emittance rings is not so clear. How do you think may be it is reasonable to arrange a mini-workshop (2 days) for not too large number of experts to discuss all aspects of the low emittance obtaining with IBS (theory, experiments, prospects, practical considerations, measurement technique, etc.)? Best wishes and Happy New Year, Eugene This proposal was subject of lunch discussion with Robin Tucker, John Dainton, Lenny Rivkin, Maxim Korostelev, Yannis Papaphilippou, Daniel Schulte, Hans Braun John suggested that Cockcroft hosts this event, Robin volunteered to do the local organisation and shortly after Swapan send supporting email.
Goals of this workshop • status of IBS theory and available measurement data • new approaches to compute phase space distribution and beam tails for IBS dominated beams • IBS with polarized beams • IBS at very low beam energies and high beam brightness • diagnostic systems for IBS measurement • lattice design for IBS dominated beams
Email from Eugene Levitchev / BINP 21 Aug. 2007 ... As for the IBS workshop, to my deep regret I can not attend it ... With best regards. Eugene
Many thanks to Cockcroft Institute for hosting this workshop Robin for the local organization John and Swapan for being very supportive Liz Kennedy for looking after all the administration
