Affixes. Definition: a ‘part’ that is added to words, either at the beginning or at the end of the word, that changes/affects the meaning of the word Types of Affixes: prefix = added to beginning of word EX: im + possible  impossible = not possible suffix = added to ending of word

Affixes • Definition: • a ‘part’ that is added to words, either at the beginning or at the end of the word, that changes/affects the meaning of the word • Types of Affixes: • prefix = added to beginning of word • EX: im + possible  impossible = not possible • suffix = added to ending of word • EX: pass + ed  passed = to have already gone past someone/something
