  7. Other Important Outcomes WMO • Regional Programme - Res. 6.4/1 (Cg-XVI): • For the first time Cg-16 adopted a resolution on RP with new programme description. RP is a major cross-cutting programme focusing on: • regional cooperation for implementation of the WMO programmes; • assistance to Members; • building partnerships. • Regional Offices: • Improve their effectiveness and efficiency; • Review the current set-up and propose appropriate relocation where necessary. 7

Other Important Outcomes WMO • Capacity Development - Res. 11.2/1 (Cg-XVI): • New approach for a paradigm shift from CB to CD. • Strategy do be developed and presented to EC. • Main focus on institutional development and sustainability • Overall objective: • to facilitate sustainable development of NMHSs • to support the needs of its Members to allow them fulfill their mandates and implement Congress decisions • A detailed CD Strategy should be developed and presented to EC-LXIV (2012) 8

  9. WMO and RA VI Operating Plans WMO • Cg-XVI decided that there will be one Strategic Plan. WMO Secretariat, the RAs and TCs will operate under Operating Plans, which will form WMO-wide OP. • The OPs include Key Objectives (KO) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) • RA VI Task Team on Strategic and Action Plan (TT/SPAP) prepared the draft RA VI OP 2012-2015. This plan develops further the KOs specific for RA VI and respective KPIs. • TT/SPAP developed a Baseline Questionnaire in order to establish a baseline that will be used in measuring the performance 9

Briefing on RA VI Activities WMO • Meetings • MG: 6th meetings: Feb/March 2012 • WG-TDI/2: Dec 2011, Meteo-France • WG-CH/2: Nov 2011, Yerevan, Armenia • WG-SDP/2: Nov 2011, Vienna, Austria • Main task for all WGs • To progress the work included in their programmes(all posted on WMO RO/EUR website) • Review their priorities and respective deliverables in accordance with the new RA VI Operating Plan 10
