Homework & missing assignments • -Any possible homework will be purposeful and meaningful • -In Math/ Science, “Problems of the Week” will be started at school but there is the possibility for it to be finished at home • -In Humanities, students and parents will be expected to spend time reading and responding to texts • -Homework will be noted in agendas, Grade 4 Blog and Edmodo • -If assignments are late or missing, you will be notified by your child’s subject area teacher via email • -Transition to independently completing tasks and acquiring an ownership of their learning

How do you support your child? • -Have regular conversations with your child about their day; focus on feelings, confidence and understanding • -Help your child to paraphrase or type • -Guide your child in locating research info • -Encourage your child to use their class time wisely by frequently asking about their work • -Encourage your child to take responsibility for late or missed work • -Let finished products be a reflection of your child’s knowledge and creativity
