  2. Welcome to Woogi CyberHero WELCOME TO WOOGI CYBERHERO Your students have been loaded into the Woogi LMS and you are now ready to launch CyberHero in your classroom

  3. Welcome to Woogi CyberHero WHAT IS WOOGI CYBERHERO? CyberHero is a series of missions created in a children’s virtual gaming website, Woogi World (www.woogiworld.com) that teach children in grades K-6 about Internet Safety and Digital Literacy.

  4. Welcome to Woogi CyberHero WHAT IS WOOGI WORLD? A Children’s Virtual World, built on the Woogi 4 Dimensional Learning Platform, where each player has their own unique “avatar” called a “Woogi” (a gumdrop-shaped cartoon character from the planet “Woog”).

  5. Welcome to Woogi CyberHero TELL ME MORE ABOUT WHAT A WOOGI IS Every Woogi on Woogi World represents an elementary age child who has registered to use the website. Each Woogi’s look is unique and can be changed by exchanging virtual money for items at stores and then wearing them using the Outfitter inside the Wigwam.

  7. Learning How to Create a Woogi Since you will be helping your students create a Woogi, let’s find out how to do it

  8. Learning How to Create a Woogi GO TO: www.woogiworld.com and click on NEXT, LOG IN USING THE TEMPORARY USERNAME AND PASSWORD THAT YOUR TRAINER WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH

  9. Learning How to Create a Woogi Now navigate through the “Create A Woogi” wizard Use the following format to name your woogi: first 3 letters of your school + 2011 Example: mcp2011 Set the password as: woogi1

  10. PART 2 USING THE WOOGI LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

  11. Using the LMS Before launching CyberHero in your classroom, you will need to print off the temporary login information for your students This information can be found in a report called the “WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS REPORT”

  12. Using the LMS To access the LMS go to: www.woogiworld.com CLICK ON In the top right hand corner NEXT CLICK ON In the lower right hand corner

  13. Using the LMS Using the Teacher Login Information you have been provided, log into the Woogi Learning Management System

  14. Using the LMS CLICK ON THE “INTERACTIVE REPORTS” ICON AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN SELECT THE “WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS REPORT FROM THE REPORT TYPE MENU NEXT GENERATE THE “WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS REPORT AND PRINT IT

  16. Using the LMS NEXT GENERATE THE “WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS” REPORT AND PRINT IT You will provide your student with this temporary log in information so that they can create their own woogi

  17. PART 3 TEACHING STUDENTS TO LOG IN

  18. Student Log In EACH STUDENT HAS BEEN GIVEN A TEMPORARY USERNAME AND PASSWORD WHICH ARE FOUND IN THE WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS REPORT CUT UP THE WOOGI SIGN-UP SLIPS REPORT AND GIVE EACH STUDENT THEIR COPY

  19. Student Log In Now your students are ready to create their own woogi HAVE THE STUDENTS GO TO: www.woogiworld.com CLICK

  20. Student Log In Have your students log in using the temporary usernames and passwords from the Woogi Sign-Up Slips

Student Log In GUIDE THE STUDENTS THROUGH THE “CREATE A WOOGI” WIZARD HELPING THEM CREATE THEIR WOOGI NAME AND PASSWORD Username (Woogi name) Have your students use the following naming convention for their woogis: first 3 letters of the school + last 3 letters of their PERM ID Example: mcp123 Passwords Password = Student’s PERM I.D.

  22. Student Log In ONCE THE STUDENTS HAVE CREATED THEIR UNIQUE WOOGI, THEY ARE READY TO LOG INTO WOOGI WORLD AND BEGIN THEIR CYBERHERO MISSIONS HAVE THE STUDENTS GO TO: www.woogiworld.com CLICK

  23. Student Log In STUDENTS CAN NOW LOG IN USING THE WOOGI NAME THEY CREATED AND THEIR PERM I.D. PASSWORD

  24. Student Log In CLICK ON THE CYBERHERO STATUE TO ACCESS THE MISSIONS

  26. Tracking Log into the Woogi LMS to see your students listed in the Teacher Dashboard

  27. Tracking To view individual student progress click on the student’s name

  28. Tracking The CyberHero Mission completion status for that student appears in the top right corner of the window

  29. Tracking To view school progress progress generate a CyberHero Report from the Interactive Reports

DEFAULT CHAT SETTING THE CHAT SETTING FOR OUSD HAS BEEN DISABLED PENDING PARENT PERMISSION FOR THEIR CHILD TO CHAT ON WOOGI WORLD Parents may log onto Woogi World and create a parent account and link it to their child’s woogi name Once in the parent portal, parents my grant permission for their child to chat
