Higher Education and Employability …complex capability set [encompassing] ‘values, identity, social engagement and intellect.’ (Hinchcliffeand Jolly, 2011, p.581) We should cease thinking and writing about “learning transfer” and think instead of learning as becoming, within a transitional process of boundary-crossing (Hager and Hodkinson, 2009, p.635)

  5. Student feedback What was the best thing about this experience? The opportunity to see what my future looks like and assess whether it is what I want. Having first hand experience that was 'real’. Being able to experience a possible career path before deciding and being stuck in something I didn't enjoy.

Summary • The placement strand aims to foster independence, informed decision-making and application of subject skills and knowledge • This is supported by a well-developed administrative framework • Student employability is indirectly promoted through a focus on graduate identity and well-being.
