The Roman Colosseum. The Colosseum is located in Rome, Italy. Also it’s on a hill top in Europe. It’s in the center of Italy. The Colosseum was built in 70-82 A.D., 2,000 years ago. The construction of the Colosseum was during the reign of the Emperor Vespasian the ruler of Rome.

  2. The Colosseum is located in Rome, Italy. Also it’s on a hill top in Europe. It’s in the center of Italy.

  3. The Colosseum was built in 70-82 A.D., 2,000 years ago. The construction of the Colosseum was during the reign of the Emperor Vespasian the ruler of Rome.

  4. The Roman Emperor Vespasian built the Temple of Peace, and the Colosseum and more buildings. Vespasian was born November 17, 9 A.D. He was born near Reate, a city north of Rome. Vespasian’s real name was Titus Flavis Vesasianus.

  5. The Colosseum was called Flavian Amphitheater, it was the largest ancient 50,000 seat Roman theater. It was the sports stadium of bloody gladiator fights.

  6. The Colosseum is 157 feet (48 meters ) high. Its 620 feet long and (108 meters) long. Also its 510 feet and (155 meters) wide.

  7. The Colosseum was built for the entertainment of gladiators battling. There were cruel fights with animals and humans so the spectators would enjoy the brutal fights. Also it was to give favors to successful legionnaires to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire.
