After completing this course, you will be able to: • Identify the various System Administration tasks. • Log in to the Policy Servicing Work Desk (PSWD) application. • Discuss and perform various System Administration tasks.

Introduction to System Administration This lessons introduces the various System Administration tasks that a System Administrator performs to manage the Policy Servicing Work Desk (PSWD) application. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: • Discuss the roles and responsibilities of a System Administrator. • Discuss the various System Administration tasks. • Discuss the scope of this training. • List the icons used in the modules.

  11. Introduction to the Application This lesson will provide information on how to log in to the PSWD application and will explain the screen elements that users will use frequently. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Log in to the PSWD application. • Explain the features of the Dashboard. • Explain the features of the System Admin screen. • Describe the screen elements of the application.

  13. Introduction to the Application The Dashboard As you log in to the application, the first screen that is displayed is the Dashboard. The System Administrators must click the System Admin icon on the Dashboard to display the System Admin screen.

  21. User Maintenance As part of the System Administration activity, the System Administrator will need to add, delete and update users as well as Groups in the application. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Add a user. • Delete a user. • Allocate tasks to a user. • Update user details.

  22. Managing Users The System Administrators have the access rights to perform the following tasks to add and manage the Groups and users. • User Maintenance Add a User Delete a User Update a Group and User

  23. Adding a User To add a new user, System Administrators must perform the following tasks: • User Maintenance Add General Information for the User Assign the User to a Group (s)

  26. Deleting a Group and a User • User Maintenance When deleting a user or a Group, first select the user or the Group from Master List. A Master List of users and Groups is maintained in the system. The selected user or Group details will be visible in the screen only after this. If a user or a Group is deleted, it will be deleted from the Master List.

  29. Updating User Details To update user details, System Administrators must perform the following tasks: • User Maintenance Reset Password for a User Unlock a User Update User Information

  30. Updating User Details • User Maintenance When updating a user or a Group, first select the user or the Group from Master List. A Master List of users and Groups is maintained in the system. The selected user or Group details will be visible in the screen only after this.

  31. User Maintenance Practice Activity: Update a User A user was by mistake added to been added to the Data Entry Queue Update a user details using the following information: • Group Name: Quality Checker • User name: XYZ • Effective Date: 11/08/2013

  32. Additional System Administration Tasks To update user details, System Administrators must perform the following tasks: • User Maintenance Allocate a Task to CPC Allocate a Task to a User Proceed to Policy Servicing

  34. Lesson 5 Accessing Batch reports

  35. Accessing Batch Reports As part of the System Administration activity, the System Administrator will need to access the Batch reports. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Access the reports repository. • View a Batch report.

  36. Batch Reports There are some Batch Reports that are saved and stored in a particular repository. The System Administrators can view and access the required reports from the repository. These are not real time but are already stored. • Accessing Batch Reports Batch Reports are periodic reports that are generated automatically when the scheduled Batch runs. Once the System Administrator sets the required report in the Batch, the report will be automatically generated on the scheduled time.
