What is a public library? • A public service, paid for by taxes and open to everyone in the community. • A place with books, movies, music, and other things. • A place for finding things and doing work. • A meeting place.
What can you do at a public library? • Borrow books, movies, CDs, and other things. • Use a computer. • Print, scan, or make copies of papers. • Ask questions. • Sit around. Hang out. • Attend a program or event. • See people.
Important reminders • Return items on time. • Don’t damage or lose library items. • Ask for more time. • Ask library staff for help.
